Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Adam Scott -- the top three players in the world -- will be paired together for the first two rounds of this year's U.S. Open. Read about it here: http://www.majorschampionships.com/2....ap/index.html. Note also that the USGA is extending the idea to the top 12-ranked players.
This pairing idea is a 'first' for the USGA, and the experiment could easily backfire. What do you guys think? Is this a good idea? Why or why not?

Never a loss of opinion:
I’d separate them, this is a cheap made for TV creation. Id love to see any two of them on Sunday together in any of the last two or three pairings if that was the way the scores dropped, but I’d rather see them paired with other golfers and see if they inspire their play and see better scores by more golfers.
I like the idea, although it could be viewed as a TV gimmick. I'd like to see if they feed off each other or if some can't handle it; any of the first top groups, not just the first 3-some.
