Gateway?
In the 7th ed., 4-D-1 "The Gateway" Homer goes on to re-emphasize the importance of the Flat Left Wrist. In the 2nd paragraph he defines A Double Wristcock, which confuses me, more-so, as to what point & relevance he's trying to convey.

My question to the forum: This "Gateway" section is obviously very important. (I realize that the priority of the FLW is being stressed.) Personally, I'm having trouble following logical progression of this section & the relevance of the title "Gateway". Can somebody summarize for me(a novice)& also tell me what Homer meant by "Gateway"?

TIA, David

4-D-1 explains the Importance of the Flat Left Wrist through the Impact interval. “Gateway” is used as “How to go through” the Impact Interval. It's the "Promised Land" sorta thing?

Homer says that we need a 3 Dimensional Clubhead Path, Down-Out-Forward, resulting from the Clubhead remaining on a 2 dimensional Plane through the Impact. That way, the Down-Out and Forward movement of the Clubhead will be even. It may travel 1 down, 1 out and 1 forward or it may travel 2 down, 1 out and 1.5 forward, but regardless, the relationship of Down-Out and Forward must not change during the Impact Interval WHILE THE LEFT WRIST IS ROLLING.

If the Left wrist is BENT or is BENDING during this Interval while the Left Wrist is Rolling and Uncocking, then the Down-Out-Forward relationship is changed and the Orbit is disturbed. Precision is Lost and we won't know where your Ball will go until it lands.

Practice Rolling through the Impact Interval while your Clubshaft rests on and moves along the edge of a straight bench. If your Left Wrist is Bent or Bending while Rolling and Uncocking, then the shaft will not follow the edge of the bench and you will “Bend” the Plane Line. Although the Orbit is 3 dimensional, it didn’t result from following a 2 dimensional Plane. Down-Out-Forward relationship changed through the Impact Interval.

Golfers View - Looking Down

A Bent or Bending Left Wrist while Simultaneously Uncocking and Rolling will put a hump in the Flat Plane. Extending the Plane to the Ground, the Plane line will have a bend from the humped Plane rather than a straight Plane Line from a Flat Plane.

Very informative. Just wait until he applies the bucket drill and right forearm angle of approach!
