Okay Guys . . .
Here's eight minutes of new thread topics off the top of my head. The overarching theme . . .
Let's play better golf NOW! No mumbo jumbo. Just things that work every day in the real world and that will have you smiling when the dollars change hands on the way to the 19th hole. No doubt it could be done better, but . . . Let's just do it. :salut: |

Yoda, golly ......eleven new threads and counting in the past hour. To paraphrase you new President , "you are really rolling up your sleeves" and getting down to business. How long is your wife away for? You are going to busy. What a generous and enormous endeavor. If this site should last a thousand years, men may still say "this was their finest hour". ob |
YOUR Forum!

Starting threads is easy -- from start to finish, these took me less than ten minutes -- but the consequences, i.e., replying, commenting, reading and enjoying them, will take months. A situation somewhat like pregnancy. My purpose is to offer a Forum for 'real' people that will interest the majority of our readers and give common sense, yet precise, answers to their questions about the Golf Stroke. In so doing, I want to add to their enjoyment of golf by helping them improve their own games. I'll contribute -- importantly -- as I can. But, these are not passive 'read and enjoy' threads. More sleeves than mine need to be rolled up. This is a community of all of us . . . not just one of us. Let's make these threads work. What questions do you have in these key areas? What answers do you need? Where are your first 'wobbly' points? What is the Achilles Heel in your golf swing? What must you do about it? Replace it with a more 'perfect' action? Or compensate? These are YOUR threads, guys. Ask . . . and I will do my best to interact with you and give you the answers you need. PRACTICAL answers that you can use when you tee it up on Saturday . . . And that will make the difference in competitions important to you. :salut: |
I'm enjoying these new threads Yoda, 'seems as if' you now have a little bit more time on your hands after a certain section of the site was closed down!
I'm not sure if your opening post asked for areas that we wanted discussed posted here, but to answer one of your questions my own achilles heel is a OTT or roundhouse move on start down that with longer clubs causes a big hook that can be very destructive. I'd give anything to sort that out! |
and another thing!
I would love to see a set up guide.
My own set up routine can find me with that head waaaay right of centre. I need to know that its ok to have my head in the centre of my pivot even if it means its behind the ball when I'm using longer clubs. Alignment Golf touches briefly on set up but does not go into the detail I would like to ensure I am getting agreen light every time I am set up and about to pull the trigger. |
Yoda,
I so want to participate in all these threads, but really feeling stupid. I had no idea how little I know about my own swing. I have even thought of making stuff up that is in the book just to take part! The more I read, the more I realize I've been just swinging on a wing and a prayer. I have no idea what I have been trying to accomplish. See ya, I've got a LOT of work to do! :) Kevin |
Awaiting your post
Yoda I hope that when you post, you will tell exactly how you do it, and also include those posters methods who you feel are sound. The problem in reading a post is that the credibility of the poster is unknown. I do not want to clutter my brain with trash. Thanks Once these topics have been discussed at length they will make an excellent referrence.

Furthermore, if Yoda's responses were sequenced correctly then we would have a mini TGM book all of our own to read, rather than a technical manual to decipher. This could become part of the "Premium Content" of the site and give us all a chance to express tangible appreciation for the wealth of information made available to us by our Host. Mr Kelley's work will remain as the port of call for more detailed study as would Forum discussions such as we enjoy right now. But, a kick start by way of something more readily understandable would be of benefit to all IMHO. |
