I put the ball in the middle of an up turned CD. When you stand properly over the ball you can see your eyes reflected in the CD on either side of the ball. Then with your arms hanging properly hold the above putter fitting tool then I can adjust it for length and angle. It's quick and works well.
Have any you guys seen a good custom fitting system for putters????
Henry-Griffits provides a putter fitting system that allows fitters to build a putter that players can aim correctly.
Their fitting system offers the fitter eight different head designs each with four script (alignment marks) optoins, twelve hosel designs each with three different lie angles, 6 shaft lengths and five grip types.
The HG system does not offer a center shafted head, which I feel would be helpful.
In addition to this comprehensive fitting system (for conventional length putters only), we have had considerable success modifying putters with the Balance Certified weighting system. The benefit for many players with this weighting system is consistant tempo in the motion and consistant contact on the sweet spot.
Henry-Griffits and Balance Certified have excellent web sites.
