The name Yoda is surely rightfully your's. I am curious though, if you aren't a G.S.E.D., who would be?
My active association with The Golfing Machine (and the golf business, period) ended in the year after Homer's death. At that time, Homer had awardedonly two GSEDs: Ben Doyle (the Teacher) and Bobby Clampett (the Performer).Over a two year period, I had built a business that was successful by anydefinition. But with Homer gone, things had changed.
I was as deeply committed to The Golfing Machine as ever -- perhaps evenmore -- but was unable to secure adequate legal protection for my efforts.Without that protection, I could not justify the personal and financialsacrifice necessary to build a dominant business around the"name." I wasn't interested in doing it any other way, and I hadcompelling alternatives. Hence, the "Road not taken."
My presence on these two sites is born of respect for Homer Kelley and hisgenius. Like South African diamonds hidden deep within the blue clay, so arethe treasures of The Golfing Machine. They yield only to time andpurpose. I am here to hasten that process for the readers of these Forums.
I love The Golfing Machine. Always have. It is now in goodhands...capable hands that will once again bring Homer's work 'front andcenter' to the Golf World. Those hands know that mine are available -- albeitin a limited capacity -- to assist in the challenge that lies ahead.
