Double D you are good. Birds eye vs straight on, the laws of motion not being unique to golf but universal.
But im still curious about Drewits comment about intent. Golfs false logic problem or whatever. Dont hit up? Steering a straight path? Here in lies the solution to golfs cause and effect puzzle.
All of this no doubt effects hand path to my mind. (Back on topic) Intent influencing hand path. The hands direct but only as the brains outpost.
Very good O.B. Not to thread jack here...Lets take this a step further. Questions: why is that better ball strikers after Impact have both a Follow Through and a Finish, but poor ball strikers after Impact only Finish? When Ted Fort and I deals with problems of Over-Aceleration by telling the student that he or she can only increase their clubhead speed after Impact, why does the student have such a difficult time doing that? Why can't students change their Hand Path even when they want to? The road to hell is paved with good intentions or wrong intentions???
Although it all ties together, maybe I will take this to a new thread in the "Grey Matter" section.

That would make for a great thread. Please make it happen Drew. Homer revealed so many common misconceptions about golf's cause and effect. And provided a solution. Like a straight divot from an inside out thrust. The ball goes up by hitting down etc.
Daryl, maybe you were born closer to Chicago than I thought possible?

It's interesting that my Traces coincide with Dr. Nesbits scientific Study. The only difference is that he used 3 hack golfers to develop his incomplete computer model and my method didn't cost a dime using the best Ball Strikers.
I would like to send you and Dr. Nesbit a box of Tissue to wipe away your tears. Would you like your own Box or would you like to share one with Dr. Nesbit?
OMG! (gosh) You and I might hatch a conspiracy or two! You are a BEAST!
Impressive! And, clear the hip, clear the hip, is Hula-Hula, I take it?
Jerry had to tell me about that after he beat the crap out of me on his home course, and two others! No, I will not put on my 'threadjacka blaster hat, here! I need lots of Hula info and back to the range and the Barclay's/Fort/Yoda /Hull tapes!
"Holla at your boyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

So if we want increased speed and distance perhaps we should be trying to emulate the great hitters of baseball instead of Hogan.

It's really cool to hear you guys say this. It's a giant (probably silly) guess on my part, but that's just what I think Hogan did. I find the effortless athleticism of his pivot to be an analogue of a pure 'natural' baseball swing.
If I was an instructor... And if I had an instruction studio... I would get a big mirror and paint a big spiral on it today. I'd have the student stand infront of said mirror and teach him/herself how make their hands trace that spiral before proceeding to the net/range. Just a suggestion
i have a mirror, so how do i draw the spiral on it? does height, length of arms, etc., have any bearing on the spiral?
