One time i pulled my tee shot on a short par 4 with an iron. Ended up in the rough behind a 15 foot tree. Rough wasn't too bad, maybe a few inches...it was the end of season but rough none the less.
I had about 110 to the hole and figured if i grapped my gap wedge and really gave it a rip outta the rough it should come close (52*).
Setup to the flag which is on a VERY SMALL green, no more than 10 yards deep by maybe 5 yards wide.
Hit the shot and lost it in the sun but it looked like it was tracking the flag cuz it went right over the tree where i was aiming.
Then all of a sudden i heard this loud crack and knew it hit the pin! When i went up to the hole my pitch mark was about 8" in front of the hole and it almost bounced into the cup but it hit the pin and deflected into the greenside rough
None the less still a pole-ie
