Teachers and Students - How many Drills should you use??
Trying to improve and have too many things I want to get better, so, how many drills do you recomomend one to focus on during, say, a 2-3 month period on the road to improvement?

By big issues are (not in order per say),

1) too long of a swing (extensor)
2) Right shoulder pivot opening too soon (my miss is a pull)
3) Tempo is way to fast, especially in the backswing
4) Not getting to both arms straight (winging it a bit)

Thanks.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but honestly:

1) too long of a swing (extensor) Extensor Action No such thing having too long a swing with EA. Impossible.
2) Right shoulder pivot opening too soon (my miss is a pull) Extensor Action One cannot pull down with the Left Arm and thereby open the shoulders too soon with EA. EA with Swingers (no Active right elbow) will automatically acquire Pivot Lag.
3) Tempo is way to fast, especially in the backswing Extensor Action EA RFT will control the perfect backstroke speed.
4) Not getting to both arms straight (winging it a bit) Extensor Action There should be no letting up on #3 PP pressure. EA is the only procedure to help eliminate this post impact breakdown.

Without seeing your motion, it sounds like your pivot needs work.

Could be a flexibility issue?

Focus on the 'triangle' of your feet and head (steady, centered, head) and on getting the right hip, and right shoulder, directly 'back'.

Right hip back, right forearm up.

You may also want to check your left hand grip/grip pressure. The hands are 'clamps', and the last three fingers of the left hand should have a firm hold.

Sounds like a radius issue to me . . . . if you're shrinking up your arms you're probably doing it so you want hit the ball fat . . . could be some bobbing or throwaway issues there . . . also . . you pull the ball with THE FACE . . not the path. You hitting pull cuts or straight pulls?

stick a video up . . . you'll get help.

....In part it is a flexibility issue, I am "gumby", very flexable, and need to tame it. Extensor shouuld help.

Part of my question is how best to incorporate some of the many drills provided in the AG video, I mean, just one (for extensor for example) and work on that for a while before moving to the next, or is it effective to incorporate 2 or 3 drills that address 2 or 3 seperate (and maybe related) issues.

Thanks.

A good strategy might be to work on the first wobbley point, in YOUR swing. You may use 1 or more drills that address that point.

As assimilation of a skill is dependent on the individual move on when you feel you are ready. From a seminar I attended, learning a new motor skill takes about 1300 repetitions.

Many times stabalizing the first wobbley point (cause) can solve some of the other issues (effect) you may be experiencing. It is said that the brain can only have one thought at a time. So you might be better off practicing and/or playing, with only one swing thought.

Good luck in your pusuit of better golfing.
